God is a Cockroach....

I've just started watching "Heroes" and this was one of the 1st lines said in the show....a professor was discussing genetics and the pros and cons about them...

Why did this line crop up... ??? well because in the big swing of things, humans, although really intelligent, are actually quite fickle creatures, we die if its too hot, we die if its too cold, you give us a virus and we die from that as well....yet, you take a look at the animal world and in their simplest forms (Cockroaches for instance), they are way superior to us...they have ingenious ways of multiplying, strength way beyond we could ever imagine, they tend survive in most conditions and thrive on literally anything you dish out....they can even survive for 3 days without their heads (though I don't really see the point) and nuclear fallout...

Now this is one incredible little animal.... !!! and it can fly without the need to build big ass contraptions that pollute the air we breathe...

So, I rate, like the professor in Heroes said....that given a choice, God would be a cockroach...look we are rather squeamish about cockroaches, but if you were a cockroach I don't think you would care....

Now I would love to post this on other forums etc but im quite sure I would be lynched :o)

In the bible it says that God created man in the likeness of him...if thats true, we are screwed...we are not nice at all...

Not only are we a fickle species that tend to die at any given moment, but given the chance, we try and kill, maim and destroy everything else around us, including our own race...this is hardly a beneficial behaviour for us living on this planet....we are like a virus that just continues to spread, slowly knocking out everything in its path, killing entire species in its wake, even throwing the planets ecology out of whack....and we have only been here for a couple hundred thousand years.... !!! a dent in this planets history....we truly are a nasty breed...

Now surely if God was to be a creature, he would be a dolphin (im going for the intelligence factor here), cat or elephant....actually strike mammals down and you have reptiles, birds, insects and fish...what about a shark or a crocodile... ??? both have been on this planet for aeons and manage to co-exist quite happily with everything around them and not screw up the planet in the process...

I think we have got it all wrong thinking that we are the supreme species and that old saying comes to mind "the meek shall inheret the earth" but it should read "the meek shall take the earth back"....we seem to think we are so special, bright and intelligent when in actual fact, we are horribly unatural and I dont think we should even exist on this planet....thats not to say I dont enjoy being human....I love it, but it also saddens me to think how terribly destructive we can be....

Anyways....

Just some jumbled mumblings that have been on mind for awhile....being an atheist (which is a contradiction in terms, I believe in not believing, wheres the sense in that) I feel no closeness or relationship with a character in a novel....so this train of thought is actually fairly amusing to me...for those that do believe in God...think about it....would you really want God to be human ???

Technically we all believe in something, even if it is in the NON-existence of higher beings.

I totally agree with you. Humanity disgusts me, I feel no sympathy for those dying in wars. Some believe that this is hell and when we die we truly begin to live.

Big thumbs up on successful Valentines date.

btw...I do believe that there is something out there...but, i want give it a name ;o) or be silly enough to think im going to sit next to it when I die....I would rather fertilise the planet tbh....thats what we are here for afterall....
